That was the headline and the question asked earlier by Chris Berman on ESPN’s NFL Countdown. Here is a rundown of the answers given by each analyst:
Whodatsaint.com believes that Drew Brees can outshine Peyton Manning in the Superbowl. Drew has the numbers to prove that he can. He has led the league in several statistical categories since joining the Saints organization. This includes leading the league in passing yardage in 2006 and 2008 as well as breaking Ken Anderson’s completion percentage record with a percentage of 70.6. Brees also led the league in 2009 with a passer rating of 109.6 which is almost 10 points better than Manning’s 99.9.
Although this game is being hyped in the media as a battle of the quaterbacks we feel that the game is going to be determined by defensive and special teams play. Our belief is that the Saints have the upper hand in both categories. The Saints defense will harass Manning as they did Favre and Warner. Manning will throw three interceptions. One to a linebacker, one to a corner and of course Sharper has to have one as well. The special teams will step up by scoring a touchdown. I know you are probably thinking that it comes by way of Reggie Bush, but no. Courtney Roby scores on the return.
The Saints have stepped up in big games this year and we see no reason for them to stop now. They score early and score often. They hold the Colts to two touchdowns and three field goals. Who Dat!
Final Score Prediction: Saints 41 Colts 23
