Brees has been nominated for the FedEx Air Player of the Week award. The signal caller posted a season-high 120.3 passer rating, completing 24 of 29 passes (82.8 percent) for 313 yards with two touchdowns, including his game-winning three-yard scoring throw to WR Marques Colston with 31 seconds remaining. In the contest, Brees became the club’s all-time leader in passing yardage.
Fans can vote for Brees on NFL.com/FedEx from 9 a.m. EST on Tuesday through noon EST on Friday to determine the FedEx Air & Ground NFL Players of the Week. The winners will be announced Friday evening on NFL.com. New this year, fans will be able to keep tabs on the achievements of their favorite Air & Ground players (and others) with the NFL Milestone Tracker, presented by FedEx.
Fans will be voting for more than their favorite player. As part of the Air & Ground program, FedEx continues its support of Safe Kids USA by making weekly $2,000 donations in each of the winning players’ names. The funding, allocated to local Safe Kids coalitions in that team’s city, is used for pedestrian safety improvements throughout the year, from upgraded crosswalks and safety signs to traffic barriers and educational training.
Ivory has been nominated for Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week honors. Ivory carried 15 times for 117yards and two touchdowns, including a career-long 55-yard score in the win. Ivory is the first Saint to rush for 100 yards in multiple games in a season since Deuce McAllister in 2006. He’s the first Saints rookie in club history to run for five touchdowns in a three-game period.
Fans can vote for Ivory on NFL.com/rookies beginning Tuesday at 9 am ET and ending on Friday at noon ET to determine the PEPSI NFL ROOKIE OF THE WEEK. The PEPSI NFL ROOKIE OF THE WEEK will be announced Friday evening on NFL.com/rookies.
After the regular season, five players will be nominated for Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Year honors. Fans can vote for the winner on NFL.com/rookies throughout the month of January. The winner will be announced at a press conference at Super Bowl XLV in North Texas.

The New Orleans Saints, winners of Super Bowl XLIV, are one of just five professional sports teams to be nominated in the Professional Sports Team of the Year category for the 2010 Sports Business Awards presented by Street & Smith’s SportsBusiness Journal and SportsBusiness Daily.
Joining the Saints as finalists for the award are the NBA’s Cleveland Cavaliers, MLB’s Philadelphia Philles, MLS entry the Seattle Sounders and the NHL’s Washington Capitals.
The Sports Business Awards recognize excellence and outstanding achievement in the business of sports for the period from January 1, 2009 through February 28, 2010. Professional sports teams in the major and minor leagues, in leagues whose central offices are located in North America were eligible.
Winners will be announced at an awards gala that will be held Thursday, May 20, at the New York Marriott Marquis in New York City.
